Getting Here

Transit Options

Music fans: it's going to be a crazy traffic weekend in Seattle, but because of our location in Pioneer Square there are plenty of alternate ways to get to the Fest. Pioneer Square is the hub of all transit, so you can get here via Amtrak, Bolt Bus, Link Light Rail, metro bus, ferry, water taxi, and Streetcar.

HOW TO GET HERE BY TRANSIT

Public transit is your best friend this weekend. All northbound lanes of I-5 will close at the West Seattle Bridge from Friday night, June 1, until Monday morning, June 4, for highway preservation work. Travelers will have limited access on northbound I-5 between I-405 and SR 520 due to multiple work zones and lane restrictions. The closure will have major, region-wide travel delays. If possible, park at your nearest Park and Ride and take the Link Light Rail into the Pioneer Square Light Rail Station, which will keep you off of the roads almost entirely.

From the North
Link Light Rail Station at University of Washington, a variety of King County Metro options bringing you to downtown and Pioneer Square

From the East
Link Light Rail from Bellevue to Pioneer Square Station, 550 bus stops at Pioneer Square Station

From the West
Ferries from Bremerton, Southworth, Bainbridge Island, Water Taxi from West Seattle, C Line bus from West Seattle drops you downtown, a short walk to Pioneer Square

From the South
Link Light Rail from any station to Pioneer Square Station, a variety of King County Metro busses

In the city?
Use the Streetcar, Link Light Rail, or King County Metro Busses to get to Pioneer Square

Parking Options

I-5 North Closure

As you make your plans for the Upstream Music Fest, you should be aware of a big Seattle traffic impact this weekend.

We encourage event goers to take into consideration the following options:
  • Public Transit (we have the streetcar stop, the ferry, most major metro routes, a Link Light Rail station, and the train in the heart of our footprint)
  • Carpool using alternate State Routes 18, 99, 167, 509, 599, 520 and Interstates 405 and 90.

Be sure to use WSDOT’s Seattle area traffic page, download the WSDOT app and follow them on Twitter for the very latest travel conditions.
